Obituary of Michael L. Baker L.L.B. Q.C.

BAKER, Michael L. L.L.B. Q.C. Passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the age of 68. Devoted husband of Arlene for 41 years. Loving father of Michelle and Melanie and her husband Brian LaSage. Mikey will be missed by his grandchildren Julia and Owen. Dear brother of Marianne, Peter and his wife Rikki. Uncle of Jarrod and Courtney. Will also be missed by his aunt Anne Sbranchella. Predeceased by his parents Mary and Mike Baker. Mike immensely enjoyed 40 years practicing law and being senior partner at Agro, Zaffiro L.L.P. Mike was passionate about his career and the legal community in Hamilton was his extended family. He was roll on the ground funny, bigger than life and one of the city’s best known characters. He was your partner, mentor, friend, ally, opponent and sometimes your biggest pain in the neck but the best at all those roles bar none. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation or The Joy and Hope of Haiti would be greatly appreciated by the family.
