Obituary of Sharon Joan Garden

Sharon passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in her 58th year. Beloved wife of Bob Garden. Loving mother of Kyle and his fiancé Jenny Tran and Jessica and her husband Bailey Secord. Loved daughter of Joan and the late David Barham. Dear sister of Tom Barham (Patricia), Paul Barham (Sarah), April Waddell (Scott), and sister-in-law to Carol Miller (Bob) and David Garden (Julie). Sharon will also be missed by many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. 

Sharon deeply loved her entire family and was the glue that held us all together. She was a ray of sunshine in our lives, with her joyful laugh and infectious smile. Sharon had a deep faith in her Lord and Saviour that manifested itself in her love and care for others.

Sharon was a cherished employee of McMaster University for 18 years, and prior with Hamilton Health Sciences, Hamilton Civic Hospitals Research Centre and Hamilton General Hospital. Sharon is also the President of the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame, her latest endeavour in a life spent volunteering and serving others. Sharon also had a love of the expressive arts including cross-stitch, drawing, painting, and especially pottery. 

Family and friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 1-5 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at MacNab Street Presbyterian Church, 116 MacNab St S, Hamilton, on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 1 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Cancer Assistance Program, a charity of Sharon’s heart, would be appreciated by the family.
