I was so saddened to learn of Sharon's death. I worked alongside Sharon at McMaster when she was in the MacPherson Institute, then was always happy to connect with her when she moved into Faculty of Health Sciences. Sharon was a consistent, hard-working, positive presence wherever she was - always optimistic, smiling, had a memory like a trap for people's lives and work, and was a mother figure and friend to so many. Thanks to her family and friends for sharing her with us, Catharine Munn

One memory of Sharon that stands out goes back to my early days at Philpott, back in the 80s when phones were plugged into the wall.
The Philpott music ministry was very active and I was blown away by how many people were involved, not just in the choir but also by providing special music as soloists, duets, trios, and so on. The level of talent and commitment was astounding, and I found it very encouraging to my newfound faith.
Sharon and her friend Janet (nee MacDonald) sometimes sang duets, they were just high schoolers back then, and their voices blended just perfectly. In the following years both of them continued to sing spectacularly in various groups, and we worked with Sharon and Bob in many church ministries. What a fine couple, so kind, so sincere, and what beautiful children!
Now as I read about Sharon's other many, many talents I'm amazed at how this one person can carry so many torches, and do it with such joy and strength.
To Bob, Jessica and Kyle, and all the Barham family - Brenda and I offer our sincere condolences. The world will not be the same without Sharon. So many lovely memories will stay with us and shape our futures.

It was Bob that first welcomed me to the Dofasco Financial department on my start date 36 years ago and we have worked closely together ever since. As part of my Dofasco family, I have gotten to know Bob and Sharon outside of work through the many activities our children participated in together (hockey, soccer, skating, piano lessons, Dofasco Christmas Party). Sharon volunteered for many organizations and it was her organization skills, creativity, kindness, and infectious smile that helped everything run seamlessly.
Bob, Kyle, Jessica, and the entire Garden and Barham families, please accept my sincere condolences. May our Lord bless and comfort you and your family during this difficult time.

Sharon was the most effective executive assistant, but she was so much more than that. She was a caring and loving person, a team builder, and a kind and generous human being. Sharon was a friend to so many of us at FHS, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her warmth and compassion made her an integral part of our team, and her positive spirit was infectious. Sharon’s dedication and hard work were unparalleled, but it was her genuine kindness and ability to bring people together that truly set her apart. I met Sharon when I joined the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame Board.
She was kind, caring, gracious and had more energy than anyone else I know. She loved her family with all her heart and soul.
Sharon never stopped. I always wondered how Bob kept up with her.
The one thing Sharon did have trouble with was delegating. She’d start something and not pass it off to another person on the Board and not because she didn’t think you could do it but once she started something she couldn’t stop.
Sharon you will be missed.
Prayers to Bob and family.

When Sharon was a young teen, my mom hired her and Janet MacDonald to oversee some appetizers in the fellowship hall after my wedding! They did a great job, it poured on our wedding day from morning till night! I was so glad that no confetti was thrown at us because of the weather! As Tim and I were leaving the church, we opened the door, to our surprise there was the two girls with umbrellas over their heads, their hands were full of confetti bags, they threw it all over us, it went down my throat, in our hair and on our clothes! It stuck to us because of the rain! They laughed the whole time, I can hear Sharon’s laugh now! We had confetti in our car for days! Sharon you will be missed, a hole in a lot of lives that can never be filled! Bob and family, we are so sorry for your loss! She is rejoicing in heaven with God, the one who she loved and served so faithfully! Wish we could be there for the funeral, but we are away! Xo

Sharon was a great lady, so passionate as she was always helping others. Sharon was a leader in the community as Sharon would help to organize our Christmas hampers each year and help deliver them. When Sharon joined the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame her enthusiasm was contagious. Sharon gathered together so many people to make the HSHOF a destination and created a Home for all of the sports memorabilia to be displayed to perfection. Sharon's attention to detail for the HSHOF was second to none. We will dearly miss Sharon and may there be a special blessing to Bob, Kyle, Jessica and all of the family.
