Obituary of Brian Christopher Lawrence

It is with great sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Brian Christopher Lawrence, fondly known as “BL” just days shy of his 74th birthday. He will forever be missed by the many people that loved him so deeply. Cherished father to Ryan (Jenna), Kallie (Brady) and Cassandra (Scott). Former spouse and beloved friend to Susan. Adored Papa to Emerson, Gavin, Hannah, and Dani—all of whom he loved beyond measure. Brian is reunited with his father Fred, mother Alexina, stepmother Beatrice, brother Rick, sister Valerie, stepbrother Peter and cherished dog Max. He will forever be missed by siblings Carol and Bob, sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Born in Kingston, Ontario and later moved to Stoney Creek. Brian attended Winona Public School and Orchard Park Secondary School where he made lifelong friends. Brian is known by many through the years at the race track, hours spent in the garage building and repairing cars, bikes and anything with a motor. For all who knew him, he will be remembered for his love of hot rods and sharing stories with everyone who would listen. Brian is remembered fondly by everyone whose lives he touched. He was a selfless friend, father, and acquaintance willing to do anything to help his children, friends and anyone else who needed a hand.

Brian passed peacefully on March 7th, 2024, surrounded by his three children and their mother Susan. Visitation will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday, March 15th from 4-8 p.m. To honour Brian’s memory, we are holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 16th at the Waterfront Banquet & Conference Centre, 555 Bay St. N., Hamilton, from noon until 4 p.m.

For the many car enthusiasts who called him friend, we’re sure that BL would love to have you bring your ride by for a final visit to these events in his honour.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the next local Cruise for Kids Car Show in Brian’s name.
