So Sorry to hear. Just hearing now of his passing now....So I didn't get to attend his Celebration of Life service.
Jeff Moore was my grade 9 science teacher....
Years later, after I too became a teacher, he became my Principal of Summer School for a number of years. He was straight up, So REAL, and Oh-SO Funny!!! Whenever I had any situation, he would listen, give me some advice, and often made me laugh!!
I took some time off teaching summer school when my kids wear born....
One of the last times I connected with him was about April 2022, a couple months before he retired. I called him up, again him for some advice. Though I don't remember the exact words of the conversation, I reminded him who I was, in case he forgot- though he reassured me he didn't forget, and he was SO Full of LIFE, and he made me laugh again!!! – can't even remember what the joke was exactly... I remember after I got off the phone, I said to myself, I'll write him a card or note one day when he retires, to tell him how Great he has been as my teacher and principal <heart emoji>....but never did...
VERY SHOCKED and SORRY to hear of his passing....
May the God of ALL Comfort, comfort you his family, and
May his soul rest in Peace

Working with Jeff at Westdale was amazing. His patience, knowledge, and humour were a great resource to both staff and students. I was his Secret Santa one year and Santa brought him a Football helmet and football tie, guess Jeff was on the Nice list! The twinkle in his eye was as bright as his smile. He was a kind and funny soul. Hope the shared memories make this time a little easier. He leaves his family with a strong foundation to move forward on their new path.

When I first started with HWDSB I was a casual clerical employee who accepted a job at continuing education for a couple of months. It was one of my first experiences working in any school or program and Jeff was so kind and patient with me. When my assignment was over, I clearly remember Jeff coming to see me and saying I was invited to come back and work with his team at any time. I was thankful for his kindness and support. Over time I moved into a Human Resources position and had the pleasure of working with Jeff once again. He was always kind, compassionate, and passionate about his programs and staff. Jeff will be greatly missed be everyone who knew him.
With Love,

I had the pleasure of serving on the CESBA Board of Directors with Jeff for a number of years. His ideas and words were always measured, kind and thoughtful. I learned so much from him. He brought so much to this volunteer role with his teaching background, his years on the union executive and his conscientious contributions to the HWDSB Department of Continuing Education. He impacted the lives of many adults wanting to improve their personal situations in life by achieving their high school diploma. Jeff was passionate about that in his own school board and more broadly throughout the province in his role on the CESBA Board of Directors. Aside from that, Jeff and I shared a passion for hotrods, star gazing and a good laugh. My condolences to his family and friends. Jeff made a positive difference in people's lives.
Sincerely

As a newcomer to Canada and a Newbie in the worlds of Con Ed I could not have wished for a more knowledgeable and understanding colleague. Sharing a passion for Sci Fi and was suitably impressed by his full regalia Star War stormtrooper outfit. Jeff was passionate about education and supported the Ontario eLearning Consortium in their hour of need providing testimony and written references for our organization. He was such a star. To use a line from Blade Runner. "The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very brightly!"
Till we meet again

I had the pleasure of getting to know, and working with, Jeff Moore in 2 different forums: firstly, as a former Principal of Adult & ConED with the Waterloo Catholic DSB, Jeff and I were at many meetings together over the years; and Jeff was the Chair of the CESBA (Continuing Education School Board Administrators) Board of Directors when I began as their Executive Director. Jeff was an outstanding educator and a better person. Jeff was the type of person who, when he spoke, you listened. He was so very insightful and thoughtful. Jeff made a significant difference in the lives of adult learners, both in the Hamilton community as well as at the provincial level when he was part of the CESBA Board. I also discovered some of Jeff's passions over the last few years (Star Trek...football...astronomy...The Beatles) and it illustrated what an interesting, knowledgeable and passionate guy Jeff was. I feel honoured to have known Jeff Moore and on behalf of both our CESBA staff and the greater CESBA communities and his friends around the province, we share our condolences with Cathy, Caitlin, and Jennifer and will keep the Moore family in our thoughts and prayers in these coming weeks. Before I had ever met Jeff, I had heard about him. I had heard of someone that was the OSSTF president turned Admin, I often wondered about that move. However, once I got to know Jeff better, I understood it, it could only work for a unique person like Jeff. I have had the pleasure of working with Jeff as a Summer School admin and then working with Cathy at Westmount (it took me a while to piece these two connections together!). Jeff was a great person to work with and made working in the summer as good as it possibly could be! I will also be thankful to him for providing me with this opportunity.
Jeff later retired as CE Principal and Mark tried to fill his shoes in this weird alter HWDSB universe, hearing about all that Jeff managed seamlessly from Mark made Jeff even more impressive! I know Mark really appreciated the phone a friend option that Jeff so graciously offered and all their conversations about Adult learning. As I read through many of the comments here, I hope they provide comfort to Cathy, Jennifer and Caitlin, the words 'he loved his family so much' are echoed by so many that knew him well. I hope in some way, these memories help to peacefully lay Jeff to rest. Thinking of the Moore family at this very difficult time.

My deepest heartfelt sympathy Cathy, Jennifer and Caitlin. I had the honour of attending Saltfleet with Jeff and later working alongside him at HWDSB. He was a wonderful person. As an educator and leader he always put students first. He truly led from the heart. I enjoyed our many conversations about new programs and better ways to support students. He supported staff in being innovative and creative all for better outcomes for students. Continuing Education leaders across the province looked to Jeff for support and advice. He impacted thousands of lives…changing outcomes. He loved his work. I enjoyed our many chats and his insights into adult education. I learned so much. He lead with integrity, honesty and compassion. His favourite topic of conversation was about his family. Cathy, Caitlin and Jennifer were the loves of his life. He beamed when he shared stories and was so proud of you. Family time meant everything to him. A kind and caring person, Jeff will be missed by so many. I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Sharing a photo from a Con Ed graduation.

I had the pleasure of working with Jeff at Parkview Secondary. He was an excellent vice-principal, strict but very caring. The students loved talking to him.
I worked in the office as one of the secretaries. He was always very supportive of all his staff.
My favourite memory of Jeff is watching him run across the front lawn after a student who was skipping a class. He ran like the wind, so his new nickname was “the gazelle”
I enjoyed our chats about his family trips to Florida, especially Universal Studies. Harry Potter was a hot topic for sure.
He adored his family. He was so proud of his wife, Cath and daughters Caitlin and Jennifer. I looked forward to seeing his family
Vacation pictures.
Jeff will be missed by many.
Rest in Peace, Jeff. Gone far too soon.

Jeff Moore was an amazing man. So kind. As an odd duck at the school board I would walk into principals' meetings and wonder where I should sit. If possible I would always choose the table where Jeff was. We would talk endlessly about our passions. Although not a science teacher I shared his passion for space and he graciously gave me copies of some of his amazing lunar photography which I shall forever treasure. I remember Jeff left one school where we were colleagues together and the principal presented him with his own school football jersey on Jeff's last day in the school. You should have seen his face light up. But he never seemed to be so happy as when he talked about his family: a mixture of joy and concern. He loved you all so dearly and that was plain from our talks. The world is a dimmer place without Jeff but we are all better for having had Jeff in our lives. My love and condolences to Jeff's whole family and all those who were touched by his amazing life.
With love,
