Obituary of Ronald "Ron" Neil Coon

Ron passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Marian (Kolodziej). Loved father of Deborah Coon-Petersen and her husband Glenn. Dear brother of Ruth Hicks. Will also be missed by his brother-in-law Joe Kolodziej (Heather+), along with his nephew, nieces and cousins.

Ron was born on the family farm and passed away on the farm as he had hoped. Ron had many interests. After acquiring his pilot’s license he flew out of the Hamilton/Mount Hope Airport. He especially enjoyed taking family and friends up in airplanes to site see and take pictures. Ron was a member of the Emergency Management Ontario team for several years.

He cherished spending time with family, friends and neighbours. Ron loved farming, nature, hiking, cross country skiing, gardening, photography, riding motorcycles and driving fast cars. Ron took great joy in modifying car, truck and tractor engines. He enjoyed a long career as a plumber and electrician. Ron especially enjoyed his job when called to work at farms. Many people would easily recognize Ron’s very unique turquoise and white 1967 Dodge van.
