Obituary of Gerrard Frank Kellar

April 2, 1958 – August 28, 2023

A fighter to the end, my darlin’ Jake left this world on August 28, 2023 after a brief, devastating illness. Forever-loved husband of June Livingston. Cherished father to Sherri Farnham (Tim King), Wesley and Alex (Amanda Jordan). Devoted Papa to Selena and Alyse King. Dear brother to George (Barb), Alma Pillar (Keith), Mary Mercanti (Ron) and Joyce Grohn (Ken).

Jake was a talented and passionate musician. He played guitar, piano and harmonica. He was always in a band and loved classic rock. He enjoyed riding his Harley, whether it was just to Port Dover or across our beautiful country and the USA. He lived an active life – golfing, hiking, biking, fishing. He loved to travel and we had so many adventures. He was also an avid sports fan. He was stubborn and he was a perfectionist, but he would do anything for anyone. If someone needed help, he was there. His McGyver skills were epic.

Heartfelt appreciation to family and friends for their kindness and support throughout this incredibly difficult period and in particular Charlie Livingston, Sandra and Al Ford, Maureen and John Forbes, Kate Livingston and Jennifer Hart. Sincere thanks to Hamilton Paramedics and the staff of the ER and ICU at Juravinski Hospital.

Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 1-5 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 1-5pm in the Rooftop Room at the C Hotel.
