To Melissa and family; As a Community Paramedic we are supposed to treat all our clients with equal care and compassion and we do, but all of us had such an incredible soft spot for Darlene. I admit that she was an absolute favorite of mine. You couldn't help but love her unique gravelly laugh after she told one of her stories, and how happy she was to show off her latest shopping find or a new piece of jewelry.
Once, when I told Darlene she was a favourite of our team she replied "I know, everybody loves me." then burst out laughing. She was absolutely right, you couldn't help but love such a unique and special character.
We will miss "our Darlene" very much and we want to extend our heartfelt sympathies to you and your family. Rest in Peace Darlene, the world is a little quieter and a little less fun without you.
