Ed and I were students together at Glendale High School in the early 1960s. We were even in Grade 10 typing class together, I believe. I remember him fondly as a big, friendly, gentle and caring teenager. I followed his football career with admiration. I am very sorry that you lost him at such a young age (which is also my age, alas).

I was fortunate to play with Ed in 1976 for just a short while as I was traded to BC in the off season. I remember him as a class A individual and I learned how hard work in the pros would always pay off. It's sad to see him go and I offer my respects and condolences to his family.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ed Chalupka. I worked for Ed when he managed a real estate office in Rosedale area of Hamilton and was in awe of working with a Ticat grey cup winner. He was a kind man, soft spoken, and thoughtful. Rest In Peace.

It is with deep sadness to learn of Eddie's passing. It is great fondness that I remember playing him at the University of North Carolina and the Hamilton Tiger-cats. He had a wry sense of humor which will be missed. Taken far too young.

My deepest condolences to Ed’s family and friends. I’ve had the blessing of knowing him since coming to work at St. Francis Xavier Parish, particularly through his leadership of the Ushers. His dedication to this ministry was so evident. Our paths crossed often at the annual Confirmation and First Communion Masses, where he was unfailing present. It was always a comfort to me to see him there at these big celebrations, knowing that he was around to welcome everyone to the parish and to help things to go smoothly, with patience and humour. I am glad to have known him. To all his loved ones, you are in my prayers. God bless you.
