ZABUKOVEC, Mary

Passed away peacefully and unexpectedly, surrounded by her loving family, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, on Sunday, January 6, 2019 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Izidor (Dore). Devoted mother of Joe and his wife Betty, Jenny and her husband Ian Parry and Frank. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren James (Chrissy), Michael (Tamara), Kristen (Dave), Brandon (Mandy) and great-grandchildren Ethan, Owen, Jackson and Lincoln. Dear sister of Frances Jervis. She will be greatly missed by her best friend Margaret Zagar, sister-in-law Pepca and many nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered by her many close friends with whom she would celebrate lunches and birthdays. Mary was proud of her Slovenian culture. She enjoyed her time visiting Slovenski Park, Lipa Park and listening to polka and accordion music. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gregory The Great Slovenian Church, 125 Centennial Parkway N., on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery.
