Deep condolences to all of George's family and extended family.
I will remember George for being the kindest and most thoughtful neighbour anyone could hope for as well as being a great friend.
He was always happy to have a chat and entertain me with a story on the way to and from the mailbox or have a gab on a slow walk to the corner and back.
Always a cheery word and a friendly "Howdy doody!" and a loving hug for everyone.
God bless your kind soul Georgie.
You will be missed by me but not forgotten.

Uncle George will be sadly missed. Not just by Family and friends, but also by the squirrels and birds he fed. He was the nicest and gentlest man we ever knew. His "this world is round" credo will always be in our memories until our end. Our condolesences to family and friends that had the privilege of knowing him even more than Brenda and myself.

Memories Are Precious! And memories of George will always put a smile on our face. He will be missed but remembered fondly by David and Maryann.

We were so saddend to read of the passing of Red. He was such a wonderful neighbour and a kind gentle man. Lakeview Drive will never be the same without him. I have not seen a lot of him since I left home except for the occasional wave or quick hug, but have heard about about him from my mom. Our families wish to express our deepest condolences to you on the loss of this lovely man.

I would run into George from time to time while walking my dog on Lakeview - always getting a couple of candies and a little rhyme or 2. One day i stopped in front of his house and asked him about his Nova Scotia flag. We discovered that we were both from "down east" and we had a great chat, he asked if he could give me a hug before i went on my way.
My condolences to his family - a very gentle man and with a kind soul - he is sure to be missed by all who knew him.

So very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. One of my memories of uncle George was at the "the Keppoch Mountain" family reunion in Antigonish County, NS..... many years ago. He was travelling with uncle Blaise, Aunt Anne, Cousins Norma and John De Coste. We were following in my parent's car and we all got hopelessly lost - Lots of laughs had by all! I have every confidence that when he reaches the other side, my father (and your dad's brother), (Tubby), along with a whole slew of other family members will be waiting to pick him up in a stylin''1950's era red convertible .... a psychic once told me that was my father's job "on the other side" and it SO fits!
Love to all of you at this difficult time,
Debbie, Sandy (both cousins) and mother Mary (Dahl) Mac Donald
( A few of your million and one Nova Scotia relatives!)
Ps. Family can decide whether or not they want to post this - just wanted to let them know that they are in our thoughts and prayers.

I want to convey my deepest sympathies to my cousins on the passing of their father. Uncle George leaves this world as he entered -- surrounded by love. Like his sister Helen (my mother), Uncle George was a truly selfless individual who always placed the needs of others before himself. Happiest when he was spending time with family Uncle George was funny, witty and a joy to be around. His trips home to Trenton, NS were always filled with fun and laughter and he will be greatly missed. Once again my sincerest sympathies. Love and Prayers - Gerry Smith
