I am so sorry for your loss as just read the obituary this morning. I was away on vacation . Many fond memories and good times we shared with Wayne and Judy over the years since we met in the mid seventies at our restaurant in Port Sydney. Dear Judy and Family:
I have many fond memories growing up on Barton St. just three doors down from The Little House on the Prairie. We neighbourhood kids played all day at various outdoor activities, mostly baseball until dark and skating on the outdoor rink we flooded. Mr. and Mrs, Childs, Wayne and Glen, were wonderful neighbours.
I purchased our family home when Wayne was in the oil business. The kerosene stove in the back kitchen was blocked with carbon, preventing the oil from getting through. Wayne came to the rescue carrying a hammer and a long steel rod. I remember as though it was yesterday. Bang, bang, bang (muttering under his breath); bang, bang, bang, bang (more muttering); more and more banging so I checked on him. He was seated in a small space puffing and wiping the perspiration from his brow. "Paul, I've never seen one like this before, but we'll get it". And get it he did.

My wife, Judy, and I are in shock.
We're in shock that Wayne died so suddenly and unexpectedly.
And we're in shock that Wayne died in his sleep; we didn't know he ever slept. : )
As a community champion, doting husband, as well as loving father and grandfather, Wayne was always on the move. His enthusiasm was as infectious as his laugh was hearty. Wayne was always doing things: helping people and being a blessing to all those he came into contact with. I know first-hand his commitment to the Winona Men's Club and to Fifty United Church was considerable and formidable! We didn't always see eye-to-eye on things, but there was no doubting Wayne's conviction and dedication.
To Judy in particular, we offer our sincere condolences. Always together, you were inseparable. May God grant you peace and love and understanding in this time of grief.
