Deepest condolences to your family. I had the pleasure of Granny's presence for over 20 years in my life. I remember tying grape vines on their farm with her, me being only 16 and Vera in her sixties. I had trouble keeping up with her. She and Shirley taught me a lot about the good life, how to preserve tomatoes to use all winter long and how to make and preserve chili sauce and other yummy, natural foods. I somehow misplaced that chili sauce recipe and I was able to call Vera when she was in her nineties and she gave me the recipe from memory, didn't even have to go look it up. Amazing. And then, there was her famous home made cherry pie filling, which was second to none. I still try to make this like Vera did. Everything was home made on the farm and even afterward, with great lifetime artistry.
Granny was a wonderful part time caregiver to Kyle after he was born for a couple of years. She did this with love and devotion and she was a wonderful support to me, to us. She was in her mid seventies at that time.
It's no wonder that Vera has lived such a long life. She was a natural soul and lived well and worked hard. All those amazing things she did and she never complained.
I have so many memories of her gentle soul, her kindness and love, which will always be with me and cherished.
Sincere condolences to all of your family,
Deborah Sheehan

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Shirley and Earl and your family at this difficult time. I remember your Mom as such a kind and caring lady who always had time for others. We had great talks over the years. God Bless.

Dearest James Colwell,
If I could be there to support you, I certainly would. I did not have the honor of knowing your grandmother, but I know you. I know your love of life and your character and your keen sense of knowing how to help others. I am most certain that part of your ethics and care for others came from a long line of strong women in your family tree. I am deeply sorry that you lost someone important in your life. Her memories will stay with you always. She will walk your path in life and still guide your way in all that she taught you. Blessings to you and your family. Lynette
