I just found out about Janet's passing this evening. Janet was one of my instructors at Mohawk College (1991-1993). She was supportive and encouraging, both inside and outside the classroom. When I was going through a very rough time with anxiety and depression, she referred me to a self-help group she knew of called Reccovery, Inc. I am forever grateful Janet suggested the group to me. I have been leading a group now for almost 20 years. She would attend on occasion when she needed a 'refresher'. I will never forget her warm smile and encouraging words. Never underestimate the difference that one person can make in the lives of many others.

So sorry to hear of Janet’s passing. As a colleague of Janet’s at Mohawk College for over 20 years, I enjoyed many conversations with her and appreciated her lively intelligence and thoughtful approach to life. She cared deeply about those around her and worked to help them get the most from their lives. I will miss meeting with her at retiree events and sharing the new perspectives she was gaining in her post-Mohawk life.

I am saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Janet. I grew to know her at Temple Anshe Sholom where we attended a course together, and sat together during services. We shared a hug only weeks ago. Janet was a kind person, with a bright smile. She absolutely loved her little dog, Oscar, who was so bonded to Janet and loved her too. My condolences to her family. I got to know Janet over the last few years through Temple Anshe Sholom. What a delightful, kind and gentle woman. She often told me about how much her visits to McMaster students with her therapy dog meant to her. I will miss her. My condolences.

My deepest condolences for the loss of someone I considered a friend. Janet and I worked together at Mohawk but also kept in touch via emails and occasional lunches to talk about 'old times'. She never really left Mohawk College as her heart was always there and she was always so interested in what we were all doing. I took over her medical terminology class, so I always leaned on her for support and to run new ideas by her. I will miss her.

How sad to learn of Janet's sudden passing. Over the past few years I had occasion to celebrate Shabbat with Janet. She had such a warm, caring and welcoming wày about her. Janet enjoyed talking about students who recognized her even years after she taught them. Even in retiremient she stayed active. May family and friends of Janet find comfort in her sweet memories. Janet will be sorrowfully missed.

Janet will be missed by her St John Ambulance Therapy Dog family, she was an active member with Oscar visiting at the Juravinski and many other events to help make people feel better through pet therapy.
