KINDREE, Daniel Matthew “Mattie”
On Thursday, April 5, 2018, after filling people’s lives with inspiration, joy and happiness for 37 years, our beloved Mattie was received into God’s presence where he will be reunited with his loving Dad and brother Michael (his hero). He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and long-time caregivers Cathy and Barb at his side.
Much loved son of Helen and the late Douglas Kindree. He will be remembered with love by his step-father Ross Tarlton. Deeply loved and remembered by his sister Megan Kindree-Black “his caring angel” (Jeff) and his sister-in-law Margo who he loved like another sister and his little nieces Mattice and Mikayla who showered him with hugs and kisses, his step-brother Kevin Tarlton (Aimee) and step-sister Kristine Howes and their families. He will be deeply missed and remembered with love by his extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends and friends at Community Living. Pre-deceased by Grandparents Edythe and Douglas Warwick, Donald and Evelyn Kindree, Jim and Kitty McDougall, his uncles Douglas Warwick, Don Kindree and Dennis Kindree. Mattie was a miracle, a true angel amongst us. To know him you could not help but love him. He inspired and encouraged so many throughout his life with his bright eyes, beautiful smile, contagious laugh and sense of humour. Despite all his struggles, he became a true inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. So full of love, courage, kindness, compassion and innocence. Forever young, forever loved and forever remembered. Soar like an eagle and fly free with your amazing strength Mattie . Bless you as you have blessed us. Mattie loved unconditionally and his life was forever filled with joy and happiness from the immense amount of love he was given by his family, friends and caregivers that made his life so fulfilling. Special thanks to all those in his Medical Rehab team who worked so hard with Mattie always encouraging him with patience, love, smiles and of course laughter. Dr. Juriansz, McMaster Neuroncology Team 3F, W.L.M.H. and the Juravinski Hospital and his many caregivers both private and through Paramed who gave so much of themselves and became more like family. And a VERY SPECIAL thank you to Dr. Marshall and Dr. Roelfsema, nurses, PSW’s, support team and the many volunteers at McNally House Hospice for the kindness, compassion and love given to Mattie and his family. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Caistorville United Church, 9550 York Rd, Caistorville, Ontario, on Monday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow in Caistorville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to McNally House, 148 Central Ave., Grimsby, Ontario, L3M 4ZE would sincerely be appreciated by the family.
