Obituary of Ernesta Filice

FILICE, Ernesta After a courageous battle with cancer, Ernesta Filice passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the age of 55, on Friday September 10, 2010. Missed by her beloved husband and best friend of 37 years, Carmen Filice and her children Tony and Sonia Filice, Angelo, Emily and Leo Caucci and Carmen Jr. Ernesta will forever be a guardian angel to her little angels Milena, Matteo and baby Cynthia Ernesta, her last gift in life. Cherished daughter of Leacaundria and the late Mario Garofalo. Loved sister of Natalina, Joe and Frank Garofalo and daughter-in-law of Emilia and the late Pietro Filice. She will be missed by Antonio and Rosa Piilucci of Italy, Nella and Frank Filice, Rita and the late Mario Filice, Tony Filice, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Ernesta will be remembered for her zest for life, loving smile and her ability to make everyone feel like they are a part of her family. Ernesta enjoyed 25 years of working with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board. A sincere thank you to Dr. Tozer and his staff. Visitation will be at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, Tuesday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. (Due to road construction, please follow Second St. N. from King St. and turn right on Charles St.) Vigil on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Wednesday, September 15th at 10 a.m. Ernesta will be taken to Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, Stoney Creek.
