I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Rays passing. I met Ray in the park and it became a evening ritual to see him on the bench with his camera and dog treats for all the dogs. You will be missed Ray..

Very sad to hear of Rays passing. I worked with Ray at Lansdowne and collectors. We had many good times at work together. He was a good man and looked forward to retiring in Elliot Lake. I tied a retirement balloon on his chair at Islington on his last work day. I have often thought of him .

I have so many fond memories of Ray... Weekend visits with Raymond and Tracey (and of course Janet, but she was a grown up... not like Ray... )... I loved to know they were coming for a visit. It always meant more cheese on the table! Times at the trailer... I was certain I was going to miss the teenage dance but Ray accompanied me and we had a time... He was my Fred Astaire. Ray was so kind,, He was goofy, like an adult who wanted kids to be comfortable and happy. It worked. I wish, so much, that I could have sat down with him, as an adult, and shared with him his impact on me,,, and discussed adult things... Janet, my heart is with you My love is with you...

Poppy was saint of a man. He was the best father figure I have ever had. In the 26 years I have been blessed to have him in my life. He has taught me that you can be a success in life with nothing more than a good heart and a great sense of humor. And his final act was to teach me to forgiveness.
He was a great person who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, friends & other family members with all his heart. And he was beloved by people and animals alike. For my whole life I never recall him raising his voice or ever saying anything bad about anyone.
To quote Stompin Tom Connors " you might think it's goofy but the Man in the Moon is a Newfie" a statement that I hold to be true as Poppy now has a special place up in the heavens.
Thank you for all you have done & all the memories. I will cherish every one of them.

One of the Good Ones is gone. Ray could always turn anyone’s frown into a smile. His wit and wry sense of humour enabled him to make the best of every situation, and to endure many, many stressful times in his life. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved, and a wonderful, generous friend to those who deserved his attention, and respected him, for who he was.
The Blue Jays (and the ‘other’ blue jays, and cardinals), and ‘his’ kitchen gave him special pleasure, and with Janet’s coaching, be began to match her great photo catches, a competition that kept them both striving to get the BEST shot.
He was the most devoted, steadfast and supportive husband a gal could desire. Janet’s love for him was reflected back at her every day, in so many ways. My tears today are for both of them.
Tom and I send Condolences to all of the family. As a recently ‘rediscovered’ Cousin of Janet’s, I feel blessed to have felt his hugs over the past few years….

Dad… as a child, I had a million ways to annoy you. As a teenager, I had a million reasons to defy you. As an adult, I had a million opportunities to make you proud. I did all that but I missed out on the most important – a million chances to say I love you while you were alive. I miss you.
I thank you all for your words we lost our father, but the community lost a good man!!!

We are so very sorry to hear that Ray has passed. He was such a delight to be around. We enjoyed our visit to Canada and I remember giving him a big hug the first time I met him and he didn't know me from Adam but he never flinched. We had a wonderful time visiting him and meeting him and Janet . RIP Ray, we will miss you and your bird pictures and your unflinching support and love for your beloved Janet.
