Jackie our condolences on the loss of Joe. We did not know he was not well. As I read his obit your words jumped right out of our mouths. He was a scrapper and hard worker right till the end. But above all else he was a true gentleman. Laid back and easy going. We both liked him as a good man. He will be missed for sure.
May he now rest in well deserved peace.

Dear Jackie and family,
So very sorry to hear about Joe. Every day on my way home from work, I drive past your house. I would see Joe at his truck, by the garage or busy doing something in the ditch. I promised myself that I would stop one day and have a chat, and that I did - not long after Uncle Walt passed away. We shared a few laughs and talked about Uncle Walt. I have treasured that day and will remember it always. God bless you and your family in the days ahead.
With deepest sympathy,
Walt and Alvena's neice

Jackie, I was shocked when mom told me that Joe was in hospital. I last saw him a few months ago while visiting Aunt Mary York. I commented then how he seemed never to age. His visits to Mary, both when she was in her home, and in care, sure brightened her day. She loved baking for him!
I am so sad for you and the family and very sorry for your loss.
