Obituary of Kenneth J. Saunders

SAUNDERS, Kenneth J. “Colonel” April 25, 1928-August 17, 2016 Peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton, in his 89th year. Loved father of Ken (Susan) of Caledonia, Christine Bondy (William) of Peterborough, Sally Bell (Ken) of Douro-Dummer. Cherished grandpa of Kerry Sanger (Steve), Lauren Bell, Mackayla Bell and great-grandpa of Brooklyn and Bristol Sanger. Beloved husband of Joyce. Dear brother of the late Gordon (late Mary) Saunders and Clara Lockington (late Stewart). Predeceased by his parents William and Mary Saunders. Survived by his many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to long-time friends Scott Paddock, Mac Paddock and their families for all of their care over the years. Colonel was employed for many years with E.D. Smith and Sons Trucking Division and Earl Paddock Transportation. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. A private family interment will be held at Little Lake Cemetery, Peterborough, at a later date.
