Dear Sally, Ken, Lauren and Mackayla: Well the "Colonel" really fought to stay with you all but he is now at rest with no more battles to wage. Sally, you did what a wonderful daughter would do .... you saw him through right to the end and I am sure he was so grateful for all your love and support. Colonel was a colourful character who made an impact on every member of the Paddock Community. Colonel was gruff, he was honest, he was mischievous, and he was kind. He had a knack for boiling down integrity, work ethic and understanding people into simple concepts, and demonstrated them through everything he did, and the - often original and colourful - words he spoke. He will go on teaching his simple lessons in humanity, as "Colonel Stories" often come to the minds of many, and are often told and re-told. In this way, he will always keep us smiling. Thank you Colonel ...

I have worked with Colonel at Earl Paddock for 12 years. I have always marvelled at his dedication to his work, and the fact that in sickness and in health, you could always depend on him to be at work....often times against the advice of doctors and co-workers. Every time he came into the office, he was sure to generate a lot of laughs with his wonderful wit and folksy humour. He was one the the most delightful curmudgeons I've ever met! He will be sadly missed at EPT by everyone.
