Obituary of Joseph James Shields

SHIELDS, Jim It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jim, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 68. Beloved father of Ken and grandfather of Christopher. Dearly loved by Ken’s mom, Susan (Doug). Cherished son of Delia and the late Joseph. Loving brother of Carol (Fred), Barry and Rick (Debbie). Will also be missed by his nephews Michael, Joey, Zachary, niece Sarah, great-nephews Jacob, John and great-nieces Julia, Amanda, and Emily. Jim was a retired employee of Siemens-Westinghouse with 42 years of service. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of St. Joseph’s Hospital for their care and compassion during this difficult journey. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
