DAVIDSON, Mina Ruth Gwendoline (Nee Byers)
With profound sadness the family of Ruth Davidson announce her passing into God’s Kingdom, in her 72nd year at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton on Saturday, November 29, 2008. Predeceased by her parents Reverend John (1959) and Dorothy Cecillia Byers (2003), her beloved husband Roy Eugene Davidson (2000), daughter Marilyn Davidson (2001), granddaughter Lauryn Reed (2003) and her brother Ian Byers (2008). Dear sister of Lois Joy Gilmoure of Arkport, N.Y. Sister-in-law of Margaret Byers of Huntsville. Cherished mother of Mark Reed and his wife Slavica of Stoney Creek and David Reed and his wife Tracy of York. Loving Nana of Katie and Emily Rogolja, Daniel Reed and Mitchell and Joseph Reed. Ruth will also be missed by loyal dog and companion, Dresden, as well as her many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Ruth was a dedicated school teacher with the Hamilton Wentworth Public School Board for many years before retiring in 1994. Mark and David along with their families would like to extend a warm thank you to everyone who helped out during the last few months, especially to Ian and Margaret Byers, who’s love and support has been so greatly appreciated. Thanks also to the staff of 7 West at the Hamilton General Hospital, Dr. Okawara and his team at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, Barb Smith and her colleagues at the Haldimand County CCAC and especially to the wonderful and caring staff of the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. The family will receive friends at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the chapel on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Mount Hamilton Cemetery.
