Obituary of Ronald Stephen Danks

DANKS, Ronald Stephen Leaving us far too soon, on his 55th Birthday, with the same quiet strength and perseverance that he lived by, we are profoundly saddened to announce Ron's passing on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Juravinski Hospital, with his devoted family at his side. Ron will be forever missed by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 31 years, Donna, his most prized accomplishments, his children, Ryan Danks and his wife Carrera and their new baby Abby, born on August 8 which Ron would have been so overjoyed to have met, Kaillie, Evan, and his faithful four legged companion Hallie, who never wanted to leave his side. Ron also leaves behind his cherished mother Alice, his loving sister Marg and her husband Don Porter, father and stepmother-in-law Jack and Corinne Ridge, brother and sister-in-law Doug and Linda Ridge and brother- in-law Greg Ridge. Proud uncle to Tim Danks and his wife Diane, Rhonda and her husband Gordon Sheridan, Rob, Alicia and Krystal Porter, Jennifer and Jaime Ridge. Great-uncle to Meghan, Laura, and Hannah Danks, and Parker Sheridan. Predeceased by his father Malcolm and brothers Kenneth and Lawrence. We wish to thank family and friends for their continued love and support. We cannot thank enough, Simpson Wigle Law. Ron was so proud to be associated with such an amazing group of caring and considerate people. They have always been so supportive not just professionally, but personally as well. To CCI Golden Horseshoe, National, and chapters across the country, thank you for your incredible show of support. Ron often said he never would have met so many wonderful friends had he not volunteered for this wonderful organization. We also wish to express our sincerest thanks to the Juravinski C.C. and Hospital; from the support staff to the dedicated and caring nurses and doctors for their compassion and expert care. Thank you to VON/CCAC and especially Debra for her excellent care. At Ron's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place and Ron's ashes will be laid to rest at the family cottage, where he loved to be every summer enjoying time with family and friends. A celebration of his life will take place in September, date and time to be set. Please bring a happy memory, a funny story, and most importantly, a smile, because that is what Ron would have wanted.
