Obituary of Lisa Ellen Power

After many years of health issues, Lisa passed away peacefully at her residence in Hamilton, on April 8, 2014, in her 47th year, and is now reunited with her mom, Lorna Power (February 22, 2014). Beloved daughter of Douglas Power. Dear sister of Brent and his wife Kathryn Yager. Will also be sadly missed by aunts, uncles and cousins. Lisa shared a lifelong love of books and reading with her friends . She also loved all things Anne of Green Gables . Her companion Labrador Sydney resides with her brother. Her career was short but she was a respected contributing member of Hamilton home care now CCAC . Lisa entered health care as a nursing student who decided she would serve better as a medical administration capacity. She was good at her job. Her Crohns and advanced Colitis took away her work life at 23 but a few strong friends stayed the course supporting her in her life. She was a funny woman and loved to laugh. It seemed even in pain she was always ready with a one liner that made us laugh. Her life was one of suffering and bravery as everyday was a deliberate choice to live, Lisa’s message to us all today is “when presented with the choice, choose to live.” We would also like to thank Dr Barry Lumb for personal, professional care for decades of support to us and Lisa. We wish you Joy. In her suffering Lisa’s faith in Jesus supported her up until her death. Cremation has taken place.
