It was with disheartened sadness to hear the news of Mary's passing..."Grandma Mary" as we teens called her back in the old days was one "sweet & cool" lady! Another familiar face gone from Deanlea Beach...although her kindred spirit forever lies within me. How well I remember, as a kid, passing the Oswald cottage and we would call out "Have you got the time Mrs. Oswald?" and she always obliged. For Mary time has finally run out. I am saddened without doubt but also rejoice in so many wonderful memories. For Jim, Randy, Kal and Anita and the rest of the family, this has been a very sad year; time and friends will help and we will do whatever we can to assist in the process of healing. Thinking about Mary as I lay in bed this morning. How I will miss all the funny emails she would send to her grand daughter Anita who would then share them with her friends where she worked at McMaster University. This was my first introduction to Mary. Such a kind yet feisty lady. We shared the bond of losing a child way before their time was due and the heartache that carries with it. Knowing that in Mary's death from this world she has now left heartache to those left behind is a difficult thing to face, but truly knowing Mary is at peace with her loved ones and her Saviour and King I am hoping in the years to come will bring peace to those of us who are left behind.
