Obituary of Jannetje van der Marel

VAN DER MAREL, Jannetje June 15, 1915 - October 11, 2012 Our dear mother passed away peacefully to meet her Lord Thursday October 11, 2012 in her 98th year. Predeceased by her husband Marinus in Canada and eleven brothers and sisters in Holland. She was much loved by daughter, Jenny van der Marel and husband Tom Fryer, daughter Ria Biebaut, son Marinus (Murray) and Katie (nee McLeod), daughter Johanne and husband Gary Hill, and daughter Cathy and husband Tim Leitch, twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Moeder was a dedicated Christian and a wonderful role model who taught us the important values in life through her daily living example of grace. A special thank-you to all the wonderful caregivers at Shalom Manor in Grimsby. A Service of Celebration and remembrance will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday October 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be on Monday, October 15, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Queens Lawn Cemetery, Hwy #8 in Grimsby following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Shalom Manor Grimsby will be appreciated.
