Obituary of Earl Joseph Rodgers

RODGERS, Earl Joseph “Bud” Uncle Bud has left us to be with the true love of his life, Lola (nee Akeson) Rodgers (deceased 2001). He passed away at Albright Manor the same way he lived, quietly, and peacefully. Uncle Bud enjoyed the love and admiration of his family, niece Jan Shuker and her husband Larry, great- niece Crystal Brady, great-nephews, Dan Moser (Amy), Rob Newman, Randy Newman, Ken MacKay, great-great-nieces Ryleigh Brady and Tara Newman, great-great-nephews Zack Brady, and Matthew Newman along with his extended family, including niece Lori Akeson, sisters-in-law Agnes Akeson, Vivian Skinner, nephews Chris Skinner and Dale Skinner and their families, leaving us all with happy memories of his smile and gentle laugh. Pre-deceased by his parents, Anne and John Rodgers, sister Muriel Lawson, brothers John and Stewart Rodgers and nieces Ann Newman, Barbara Bibby and “Mickey” MacKay. Mr. “R” was retired from the Royal Bank and was always happy to tell stories about the many years he spent there and the fun people he worked along side. When it came time for Uncle Bud to move on from New Village Retirement living, where he received help and support from the wonderful staff and was looked after by Dr. Andrus, he found a welcome home at Albright Manor with both the very caring Dr. Jutas and the very compassionate 2nd floor team who in addition to providing for all his needs, supplied daily hugs. Thank you to Douglas Muir who was not only Uncle Bud’s long time friend but supported our family as well. At Uncle Bud’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service only, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 600 Spring Gardens Rd, Burlington, Ontario on Friday, December 14, 2012, 3:00 p.m. with arrangements entrusted to Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, ON (905) 662-2948. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to The Albright Foundation, 5050 Hillside Dr., Beamsville, Ont.
