Stephanie meant the world to my family and I - my mom Lois, my step-dad Glen, my brothers, Joel and Seth. She was more to me than just my mom’s best friend, she was my 2nd mom. The way she lived her life with such joy and enchantment has been a huge inspiration to me, and will continue to be for the rest of my life. She came into our lives when my mom needed a friend more than ever, and through the years they became more than that. They became sisters. I could never thank Stephanie enough for the love and joy she brought into my life, my mom’s life, and into Seth’s life. We will never forget her laugh, her smile or those big, bright beautiful eyes that always welcomed us with so much love. Stephanie touched our lives in such an indescribable manner. She gave me the hope that there is always a better tomorrow, and the faith that life can be as beautiful as I imagine it to be. She taught me that no matter what life swings your way, if you dig deep enough, you can find the strength and the courage to get you through. Stephanie was more than just an amazing woman. She was more than my 2nd mom. She was a pure gift. A piece of my heart rests with her now.

Glen Lorenz: Thank-you Dave and Lois for bringing Stephanie into my life. Dave I am so glad you and Steph made that decision so many years ago to come here. A leap of faith I call it. What else but the knowledge that your determination, perseverance, and love for one another would see you through anything. I am better for knowing Steph. I see shoes in an entirely different light now, but no matter what things we talked about I knew that people always mattered more to Steph. To my wife Lois, thank-you for accepting and growing that gift of friendship Steph extended to you so many years ago. Because of you, I too got to enjoy some of Steph's cutting wit, her total interest in you along with her lovely deep laugh and occasionally her beautiful tears. I know my tears will fall on that extra white daisy that will be growing in our garden this year. I will miss you Steph. My thoughts and prayers are with you Dave. Love Glen.

Dave, it was with great sorrow that I learned of Stephanie's passing. I was hopeful of a bounce back, but I guess her body finally tired out. She is an inspiration of courage and dignity in the face of overwhelming illness. I will remember her always and she will always be an inspiration to me to do my best.

From: Former hairdresser..Christina ...I am so sorry to read of Stephanie's passing. I had the privilege of being Stephanie's stylist a few years ago in Stoney Creek.. She was an angel, here on earth. Stephanine's sense of humour was magicial..she could and would put one at ease right away. Her smile and her eyes said it all. It was a privilege to know Stephanie. She truly was "Angel Among Us."

From: Tracey Gula ** I knew Stephanie professionally, the first year as an ECE at Kiwanis Education Centre. She was Helen Gough's assistant. She and Helen were such a dynamic duo and an inspiration to me as a new and idealistic ECE. Stephanie was so articulate and intelligent with a deep commitment to every child and teacher who worked with her. She had a no nonsense way about her, and you always knew what she thought about any issue. I moved on and eventually we met up again at Chedoke where I still work. I volunteered in her program before I started to work in the Communication Program. We lost touch as I got busy as a new mom of one and then two. Helen would share about Stephanie from time to time. It was sad to hear about Shawna passing away, but Helen shared how strong and hopeful Stephanie remained. It is hard to let such a charismatic person go, so my prayers go out to her husband and friends to find faith in the One who made her the wonderful person she was. God, thank you for Stephanie's life. Psalm 139

I met Stephanie years ago at line dancing. She was an inspirational
angel as my husband had a liver transplant in London as well, though
he never came home. I admired Stephanie and her inspiration of
life. She was a very special young lady. The strength she had to
carry forward with the loss of Shawn-Marie was second to none. We
lost touch over the years as my cards were returned and I had no
forwarding address. The beautiful cards I received from Stephanie
always came with angels tucked in with the card. One of those angels
is tucked away in my memory box & I will cherish that wee angel
forever. I am so happy that our paths crossed and I had the
opportunity to know a wonderful angel called Stephanie.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences if your loss of your special
Angel Stephanie.
