Even though I receive the Spectator, I missed the obituary so I am glad you passed on the information, Larry, and I am sorry for the loss to the family. I remember I think it was about a year ago you were happy she was going into extended care. She lived to a remarkable age and enjoyed a large family.

Our wishes are with you. I never had the priviledge of meeting your mother, but it has been a priviledge knowing Larry, Wynn and Dale. I hope all of us can live to 94!

Sorry for the passing of your mother and my aunt. I have happy memories of Aunt Ruth when she lived on Cumberland Avenue. I recall the apricot tree in the back yard and I believe it was my first taste of an apricot ever. You will all miss her but she was very proud of all her family. You will be in our thoughts and Larry and I extend our sincerest sympathy. Lois

Saying goodbye to a mother and grandmother and friend is emotional, but fond memories of years past will enrich this experience. Having reconnected with Ruth (and Larry and Lynda) after almost 50 years as a result of my mother's memorial service, has taught me again about lasting friendships. The opportunity to meet with Ruth when we were visiting Ontario allowed us to share some fond memories of 1452 Cumberland, and of course, the oft told tale of Ruth closing the car door on my fingers during as trip to Niagara Falls!
Yesterday during our church service we recognized All Saints Day and we were given the opportunity to name persons who influenced our lives, and I had the chance to name Ruth. Our choir (Ann and I are members) then sang a contata based on the story of Ruth. What could have been more fitting? Ruth McDonald was remembered in Canmore too. Best wishes to all.

The end of an era! Please accept our sincere condolences regarding Ruth's passing. She was a real ray of sunshine in our lives when we'd meet in the condo building. We missed her when she moved. The world is a lesser place without her.
