Obituary of Robert (Bob) King

KING, Robert (Bob) Suddenly while on vacation in Portsmouth, N.H, at age 62, Bob passed peacefully on Monday, August 16, 2010 surrounded by his family. Best friend, soul mate, and devoted husband of Brenda (Hore) for 39 years. He was the beloved father, friend and role model of Sarah and Rory. Bob’s love was also shared by his son-in-law Dan and daughter-in-law Stephanie. Cherished grandfather of Noah, Grayson and Fiona, Papa’s guidance, influence, and love will remain with them forever. Son of the late Roy and Illene King. Dear brother of Carole Peason (the late Bill) and the late Ron King (Diane). Loving son-in-law of Helen Hore (the late Norm), he was beloved brother-in-law of Marilyn (Brent), Lorraine (Barry) and Janet (Nigel). Bob will be dearly missed by his best friends Joe and Carol Moser, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bob was a well respected teacher and mentor for the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board. In his retirement he enjoyed focusing on his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
