Obituary of Michael "Mike" Marshall

Michael "Mike" Marshall passed away peacefully on Friday December 6th, 2024, in his 72nd year after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Loving husband of Marjorie for 52 years. Proud father of Sandra (Ted), Coleen (Chuck), Sean (Melanie), Carrie (Jeff). Cherished Papa of Juliana, Ethan, Kristiana, William, Jocelyn, Jillian, Henry, Jordan, Marcus, Nolan. Survived by his sister Carol (Horst) Schweinbenz. Predeceased by his father Cecil and Mother Kathleen. Mike will be missed by his many nieces and nephews as well as many friends. 

Mike was an employee of the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board for 28 years working at various elementary schools across Hamilton. It gave him great joy to bring smiles to so many young faces. 

Mike was known for his love of cars, bicycles and fishing. He loved spending time tinkering and could fix almost anything. He would spend hours fixing up bicycles to give away to anyone who would take one. He was always good for a helping hand if you needed it and would give you the shirt off his back. His favourite place was his summer home at Grand River Resort and was often found fishing on the river. Over the years he made many friends who became like family. Many fond memories were created by sharing good food with great friends.  

A cremation has occurred and a celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
