Noella Labrosse

Obituary of Noella Labrosse

It is with great sadness that the family of Noella Labrosse (née Rivet) announce her sudden passing at home on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Rejean Labrosse (2022) for over 60 years. A loving mother to Marcel Labrosse and his wife Cheryl, and a “cool grandma” to Katelyn (David), Natalie (Will), and Danielle (Matt). Survived by her brothers Gerry (Gail) and Roger (late Pauline), and predeceased by her brother Leo (late Shirley) and sister Lucille (late Henry). A dear friend to Judy, Mary, Theresa, and John. The family wants to extend their gratitude for the friendship, support, and love given by these people for many years. Noella will also be missed dearly by many nieces, nephews, neighbours, and furry friends.

Noella loved her family beyond measure and always made sure everyone who entered her home felt loved and welcomed. She always wore the biggest smile on her face, greeted all with open arms, and gave the warmest hugs to all. She would often argue with her granddaughters about who loved who the most - she always won.

Noella had a love for flowers and gardening - she would even call her garden book her “bible”. Noella’s family has many memories visiting several garden centres and learning about the many ways each year that she would rearrange her garden so that her flowers would thrive. Her neighbours would frequently compliment her garden; if they liked certain flowers/plants, she always made sure to give them a piece of that plant or even seeds so that they could have it in their gardens too (and it always came with an abundance of advice).

Noella was also very well known for her love of animals. She would always keep cat and dog treats in her purse so that every animal she encountered could have a little treat from grandma. Noella’s family’s pets (as well as neighbours) quickly came to know that when Grandma was around, they always got a treat and were often first to greet her. She also loved to feed her birds in her garden.

Noella had a heart of gold and so much love to offer everyone she met. She would always bake the best treats for family birthdays, friends, and neighbours – reliably delivered with a piece of tape on the package labelled “MADE WITH LOVE HUGS”.

It is certain that Noella’s family, friends, and neighbours will feel her absence, and we feel so lucky to have had 82 years worth of memories with her. At Noella’s request, cremation has taken place, and a graveside service was held for the immediate family. As a tribute to Noella, please consider donating to a local pet charity or botanical garden, in lieu of flowers.
