Born in Selo Padjene, Serbia, and passed away in Stoney Creek, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents Jovo and Milija Samardzija. Beloved wife of the late Todor Maric. Cherished mother of Slobodan. Loved sister of Milka Vukojevic. Dear aunt of Jovica Vukojevic, Velimir Vukojevic, Nikola Devic, and Mirko Ljevaja.

Janja was a member of St. Sava Orthodox Church and was also a longtime member of Kolo Srpskih Sestara of Edmonton, Alberta. She enjoyed her flower garden, and volunteering for the church. She had a strong relationship with God, our Lord, Jesus Christ. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Monday from 6-8 p.m. Pomen 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, 1401 Barton St. E., Hamilton, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. with The Very Reverend Father Vojislav Pavlovic officiating. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery.
