It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, Samuel Bethel, who left us on October 22, 2024 at the age of 77.

Sam was born in Ireland and came to Canada in 1967. He married Helen in 1974 and just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He worked at Stelco for 40 years, where he worked proudly as a crane operator in his final years before retirement.

Sam leaves behind his wife Helen (Bennett), his daughters Johanna (Adam), and Andrea (Chris). He loved being a Papa to Brielle, Nathan, Xavier and Tristan.

Sam was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Sarah Bethel, siblings Dora Gillanders (Eric), Geordie Bethel, Betty McKee, Billy Bethel and Eva Bethel. Sam is survived by his siblings Jimmy Bethel and Sadie Breaden (John). Sam will be missed by many other friends and family.

Visitation will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 11-12 p.m. A brief Funeral Service will follow at 12 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Stoney Creek.
