Obituary of Edward "Eddie" John Klanjscek

Peacefully on October 6, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, with his loving wife by his side. Ed will be forever missed by his wife Christine (nee Lazeo) and stepson Jeff Lazeo (Jessica). Beloved brother-in-law to Sandra Inkster (Butch), Sharon Lazeo (Shayne), and Michael Lazeo (Tricia). Ed also leaves his Aunt Irma; and cousins Robert, Paul (Kim), and Margaret. Ed was a dear uncle and friend to many. Predeceased by his parents, Mirko and Ivanka; his brother Rudy; and his uncle Claudio.

Ed’s family was originally from Slovenia and immigrated to Canada when he was two years old. He grew up in Hamilton and worked in steel fabrication. Ed enjoyed playing and watching sports, following the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Blue Jays. He had a passion for music and could play the guitar, piano, and accordion. Ed also liked playing snooker at the senior clubs and day tripping with Christine, Sandy, and Butch to local attractions and concerts.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Stoney Creek Baptist Church, 79 Collegiate Ave, Stoney Creek. Private inurnment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

We wish to thank the caring staff of 4 Medical Step Down at St. Joe’s and Dr. Rosalyn Juergens of the Juravinski Cancer Centre for her special care of Ed. Also, thank you to Pastor Ralph Lepore for his years of prayer and support.
