Obituary of Kenneth Allen Rylott
Peacefully at the Village of Wentworth Heights in Hamilton, on Friday September 6, 2024, in his 97th year. Born in Otonabee Township on June 23, 1928 to the late Joseph and Irene Rylott.
Ken was the beloved husband and soulmate of Audrey (nee Whitfield) for 67 years. Ken was predeceased by his seven siblings, Harold (Ethel), Earl (Margaret), Gerald (Toots), Jean McNair (John), Keith (Noreen), Stanley (Bev) and Raymond. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Isabell Rylott and his many nieces and nephews, as well as grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Throughout his life, Ken was highly respected as a friend, listener and advisor. He was a true gentleman with a smile that could brighten any room. Ken was known for his passion for jazz music and his keen interest in genealogy.
Ken was a long-time employee of Ontario Hydro, retiring as an Electrical Inspector, and subsequently establishing his own electrical consulting practice. Ken and Audrey travelled frequently, often in pursuit of the Rylott family roots. After retirement, they were committed “Snowbirds” for numerous winters in Florida where they established many life-long friendships.
Cremation has taken place. A Visitation for family and friends at 1:30 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m. will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Thursday, September 19, 2024. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
