Heartfelt condolences to the de Koning family on the untimely passing of Pat. She was the most intelligent person I'd ever met. She will be missed. Rest in peace Pat.

So sad to hear of Pat's passing and the loss for all of the family! On a brighter note she has gone to her forever home with the Lord! I was one of the boarders Gerrry and Pat invited into their home and will be ever grateful for their kindness ! Jean(Scott) van Leeuwen

As I could not attend Pat's Memorial Service in person, I watched it on live stream. It was a beautiful service that transported me back to the farm in Fruitland, and the many memories that place holds in my heart. It was a special time growing up with the Dean "children". Pat would put on her puppet shows in the back yard, while we sat on a blanket and enjoyed the story. At one point, Carolyn Windhorst and I borrowed some puppets to put on a show. It took place at the scout hut in Winona, at the end of the season for Summer Fun. I think we were 9 and 10 respectively. Our puppet show was titled The One Eyed Onion, none of the puppets survived to the end. I don't recall the story, but I do remember it garnered us a picture and write up in the Stoney Creek News. Pat had given us a gift of story telling, which I held in my heart since. Thank you Pat and Family for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy your company.
I am sending our condolences to the family, from the vanTol family. My Mom sends along her sympathy as well. She sends her greetings and fond memories along at the same time. We wish you strength in the coming days as you find your way through this new way of life.
Again, we are better for having known Pat's kindness and generosity. She lives on in our hearts.
Mike and Elma Kellough (nee vanTol)

Hello, I'm a friend of Kathryn. The full life of Patricia written here is wonderful. I was working freelance at the time when Kathryn asked if I'd like to help. And I made just an attempt, perhaps before the term psw was coined. Just helping with food prep and cleaning. The details were many and I couldn't keep up. Now that I have been through the care of two parents - one of whom had an 4-6 page instruction booklet I made all newcomers read (and there were many...) I understand completely. I very glad for Pat's loving family and the good care she received. She had a fascinating life. God bless.
