Obituary of Margaret Helen Maguire

Margaret Helen Maguire (née Obermeyer) passed away peacefully in her 90th year at Lakeview Retirement Center in Stoney Creek, on August 16, 2024. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Joseph Maguire. Survived by her son Daniel Maguire, granddaughters Felicia Maguire and Ashley Maguire and her brother-in-law Robert Moore. Predeceased by her siblings Maureen Jennings (Lawrence), Robert Obermeyer (Moyra), and Elaine Moore. She is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Margaret was the daughter of William and Kathleen Obermeyer of Hamilton. 

Margaret lived a long, humble, good life. She loved her family, friends and neighbors. She was an avid reader and was an active parishioner at St. Francis Xavier Church in Stoney Creek for many years.

Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Parish on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10 a.m., 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek, followed by a Celebration of Margaret’s Life at the Powerhouse Restaurant, 21 Jones St., Stoney Creek from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
