Obituary of Kevin Thomas Jeremiah Sullivan

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts our family announces the passing of Kevin at Heritage Green Long Term Care Home on Friday, July 5, 2024. Loving husband to Ella and adored father of Kate Sullivan-Alley (Ryan) of Stoney Creek and Joe Sullivan (Linda) of Australia.  Loving Papa to John, William and Benny. Loving brother of Brian Sullivan (Marg) of Saskatoon and uncle to James Sullivan (Lisa) and Patrick Sullivan (Michele). Leaving to mourn brother-in-law Harry Watts (Marilyn), sister-in-laws Marion Watts and Lilly Watts, nieces and nephews, Frank, Doreen, Sheldon, Barry, Amanda and Angela, many great nieces and nephews, childhood friends Jacques and Linda Nolet, cousins Diane, Charlene and Judy. Predeceased by parents John and Merle Sullivan, in-laws Ingram and Elizabeth Watts, aunts Ruth Carr, Kate Graham and Doris McVey, sister-in-laws Jeannie Sullivan and Faye Davis, brothers-in-law George Watts, Cyril Watts and Willis Watts, and niece Cindy.

Kevin was born in Montreal on April 20, 1947, and lived and went to school in Laval. When he graduated high school in June he took the train into Montreal  where he was hired by the Royal Bank of Canada. He worked for 40 years with the RBC in  many different capacities in Montreal, Ottawa, Renfrew, and Goose Bay (Labrador) before setting in Hamilton in 1972.  He also worked for more than 25 years as a real estate sales representative for various companies including Alec Murray, Homelife State Reality and Royal LePage. Kevin was a past Grand Knight and charter member of the Knights of Columbus St. Luke's Council 13358.  He was an active member of the Rotary International Club (Mountain branch) and a recipient of the Paul Harris Award. He was also an active member of our Lady of Assumption Parish, this included being a past member of the Parish Council, a Eucharistic Minister at Heritage Green LTC, and he regularly helped out as an usher. Kevin was also involved in the community as a volunteer with Stoney Creek Minor Hockey, Valley Park Mens Club softball, as an advisor for the Junior Achievers and the Downtown Business Association.  He was also a die-hard Tiger-Cat fan and a long time season ticket holder.

We would like to say thank you to the staff at Heritage Green who took care of him over the past year. Cremation has taken place.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Kevin's Life will take place at Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 63 Highway 20 East, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 11 a.m. Inurnment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kevin's memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Canada or Parkinson Canada would be appreciated by the family.
