Obituary of Nancy Louise Coburn

Nancy Louise Ralston Coburn, 87, of Seminole, Florida, passed away on March 8, 2024.  Nancy was born on December 11, 1936 to John and Adeline Ralston in Quincy, Massachusetts.  She was the second of four children.

After many adventures, including a major road trip to Florida, Nancy moved to Toronto, Canada to work as a medical secretary. There she met her future husband, John, where he was working in a bank. Their first date was a Peter, Paul, and Mary concert and the relationship blossomed from there. They married in 1963, resided in Stoney Creek, ON, and had two sons, Peter and Ian.  In 1985, Nancy and her family relocated to Seminole, Florida.  Nancy treasured spending time with her family and friends.  In her retirement, Nancy fulfilled her love of travel with trips to visit family in England, Canada, and Iowa.  Visitors gathered at her house in Seminole, where she was an amazing hostess.  Her treasured guest book chronicled the visits.  Additionally, she enjoyed cooking and baking, playing Scrabble, and collecting shells on the beach.  Nancy is preceded in death by her mother and father John and Adeline (Steele) Ralston, as well has her younger sister Roberta.  Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 60 years, John Coburn; her children Peter (Jennifer) Coburn of Tampa, Florida; Ian (Shelly) Coburn of Spirit Lake, Iowa; her three grandchildren Emma (Jake Wolf) Coburn of Spencer, Iowa; Owen (Josie Pitts) Coburn of Waukee, Iowa; and John Coburn of Tampa, Florida; her older sister Jean (Bob) Rapley; younger brother Johnny Ralston; many nieces and nephews, and her circle of friends.

Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 11 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 12 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
