Obituary of James Zenon Buchko

Passed away peacefully on Saturday May 25, 2024, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton, at age 94.

Beloved husband to “the love of his life”, the late Lucia (2006). Proud father of his three sons, Richard, David, and Walter, and loving father-in-law to Sandra (2019), Jill, and Bonnie. Caring Gigi to Nicholas, Joshua, Nathaniel (2016), Emma, David James, Hannah, and Lucas.

The family is grateful for the excellent care he received during his many hospital stays across the city and over the last few years, he was blessed to have the support of the dedicated and caring staff of Shalom SVToo.

And his “little sister” Roberta was a consistent source of joy and support in his later years.

He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for his generosity, kindness, good nature, peanut butter cookies, bowls of chocolates, and his stories - oh yes, his stories!

The Funeral will be held on Friday, June 7th at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. Service at 1:00 p.m. followed immediately by internment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of James may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital Palliative Care Services, Hamilton, ON.
