Obituary of Wayne Hooker
Passed away suddenly at his home, on Thursday, May 30, 2024 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Margaret for 56 years. Dearly loved father of Lesley and Elizabeth. Cherished Poppa of Benjamin and Nathan. Dear brother of Dorothy Fulmes of Saskatchewan and predeceased by his brothers Blake, Don and Dick. He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law, Barbara Teatero, her husband Fred, his nephews J.P. and Fred who Wayne was very close to, his loving dog Quinn, his many close family members, and friends, especially Nancy Oldfield who Wayne knew since they were teenagers.
Wayne grew up on the shores of Lake Ontario on the beach strip and could often be found at Hutch’s working the chip booth, along side Margaret.
A Jack-of-all-trades, Wayne’s career path was quite varied including factory worker, restauranteur, mechanic, tow truck driver and finally, auto parts delivery person.
Wayne loved his family deeply, enjoyed spending time with his them, working on cars, time at the trailer and taking Quinn to the boat dock in Gravenhurst.
Wayne was the kind of guy that would give you his last nickel or the shirt off of his back if you needed it and as a result, Wayne was loved and respected by everyone that met him.
