I met Thomas only once in my life. I went to his home to talk about staying at our retirement home for a short stay. It was one of the most profound visits I have ever had. He was such a great storyteller and such a man of faith. I felt such a connection to him that day, one that has stayed with me to this day. I just learned today of his passing, but I am in no way sad for his loss. I am sad for his family not having this man with them anymore, but I am not sad for Thomas because I know he was ready to meet his maker. He was so ready to see his two beautiful brides and to meet the Lord who has lived in his heart for so long. I am glad Thomas now lives with him. Thank you to Darlene and family for introducing this sweet, sweet man into my life. It was just a pleasure.

To Darlene, Donna, Gary, Caroline and all of your families. Glenn and I are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Tom was a lovely man and always made you feel comfortable and welcome. We bumped into Uncle Tom looking dapper as always in Chester, England on a holiday. He was so excited to see us and so full of life. We know you will miss him dearly but will have so many stories to share that his memory will live on for generations to come. Love to you all, Glenn and Sarah

Eighteen years ago, when we first moved into the building, Tom delivered a loaf of fresh baked bread for Easter to us. Tom was a terrific and good neighbour in every sense of the word. He shared a lot of his life stories and travels with us through the years. We would always let him know when we were travelling and he would tell us “do it now, while you can”. A measure of a good man is marked by the love and respect of his family and friends. With his passing, we understand that there will be a void and also a comfort in knowing that Tom had a rich and fulfilling long life.

Tom and Nora were among our first friends when moving to Hamilton in the 60’s. So many precious memories of this man, Nora, and their children. Tom called my mom on her 95th birthday to sing “Happy birthday” to her. We send our prayers and condolences to the family.
