Obituary of Grace Coomber (nee Webb)

On Saturday, March 30, 2024, in her 100th year, our Mom and Nanny passed away while clutching the hands of her family. Predeceased by husband Fred, and daughter Diane. Left to mourn are daughter Janice Popynick (Paul Clegg) and son Gary (Christine). Devoted Nan of Angela Webster (David), Darryl, Kaylee, and Belinda Clegg. Doting great-grandmother to John, Melania, Grayson and Emma. Predeceased by parents Tom and Clara, and brothers Tom (Millie), Bob (Clara) and Arthur (survived by Ellen). Survived by Michele and Skylar.

Above all else, family was mom’s ultimate priority and greatest achievement. When her illness came back with a vengeance, she faced it with resolve and humour until the end. She was ready to go. Mom was a proud member of Stoney Creek UCW. She cherished the friends and memories made while baking and cooking for church functions. At this time, we would like to thank the Bob Kemp Hospice, who made her last days and hours peaceful. We can never thank you enough for your kindness and compassion.

Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
