William Hipkiss

Obituary of William David Hipkiss

In Memory of William David Hipkiss

1946- 2024

William (Bill) Hipkiss passed away Saturday March 23rd at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital due to post-surgical complications.

He was husband to Janis (deceased), father to Wil (Brandy) and Kirk (Courtney), grandfather to Kieran, Beckett, and Keifer, brother to Anne, Eric and Richard, and uncle to many.

Bill was smart, funny, charming and mischievous. He loved music (Elvis in particular), animals, hockey, world affairs and sarcasm. He was a well-rounded man who enjoyed making people laugh.

From childhood to retirement, he was known around the Stoney Creek and Grimsby hockey rinks as one half of the formidable twin(s) defence line, the “Hipkiss Brothers”. And that love for the game had him teaching his two sons how to skate before they could walk.

As father and teacher, he taught his children many things about life that would inform who they are today, and they both love and appreciate him for that and feel fortunate to have had him as a father.

Bill, we all love you, and we always will.

As per Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private inurnment will take place at a later date. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca
