Obituary of Elizabeth Muriel Grainger

June 2, 1929 - March 11, 2024.

With thanksgiving to the Lord for a good life, Muriel went to be with Jesus on March 11, 2024 in her 95th year.  Wife of the late, Gordon Grainger. Loved daughter of Anna Weir and dearly cherished chosen daughter of the late Calvin and Ethel Miles.  Dear Mother of George, Marilyn and Stuart. Grandmother of Tabby and Michael. And a much loved cousin to many in the Miles family.

Muriel graduated as an R.N.A. in 1964 and thoroughly enjoyed her work. Muriel was proud of her Miles heritage and even though she lost her sight in her later years, she loved sharing stories and precious memories.  Muriel had a great sense of humour and we will miss her smiles and laughter.  Rather than saying goodbye, she often said, “Remember, you are loved.”  She is now safely in the presence of her Lord and Saviour and reunited with many family members. Muriel will be greatly missed but always in our hearts. 

Visitation will take place at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday March 15, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Interment at Trinity United Church Cemetery, Hamilton. Memorable donations may be made to Crossroads- 100 Huntley Street in memory of Muriel.
