Obituary of Christine Mae deWildt

May 31, 1960 – March 7, 2024

An early morning sunrise over Lake Ontario while tying up my rollerblades ready to push into a hard west wind and enjoying the easy skate back.

A summer late night swim in our pool cooling me down before going to bed.

I enjoyed backyard barbeques – Swimming parties – rating my sons big splash competitions – my Goldens swimming and chasing after whatever fell in the pool.

Cottage meant family and the warm feeling of togetherness it brought me. I loved to water ski no matter what time of year or how cold the water was. I didn’t miss an opportunity to ski from the cottage around Pete’s Island and back a feat never matched.  (twice a day)

I loved Ski and Surf parties - paddle boarding – campfires – games – late night dinners – A glass of Pinot Grigio – Morning coffee on the dock– Star filled skies at night – A booming thunderstorm.

I leave behind my true love, best friend, and husband of 39 years Rick. Three of my greatest accomplishments are my three sons Jordan, David, and Michael. They blessed me with three amazing daughters I never had Sarah, Mary Kate, and Jess and four grandchildren Ava, Jack, Benjamin, and Owen.

I was loved and will be missed by my sister AnnMarie (Al), brother Fred (Angie), mother-in-law Jane (Oma), brother-in-law Ken (Melanie), sisters-in-law Miriam (Dave) and Victoria as well as my many nephews and nieces. Pre-deceased by my brother-in-law Ted.

Special thanks to Dr. Trevor Kwok for helping me through the last years of my journey.

I am going to join my parents William and Dorothy, Father-in-law Theodorus along with my two Goldens Riley and Simon.

Remember me - When the lake is like glass –When the warm winds are blowing you back – When a golden wags its tail – When someone laughs or when you hear one of my favourite country songs.

A Celebration of Christine's Life will take place on Sunday April 28th, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at the The Edgewater Manor Restaurant.
