Rob was always spending time with his grandkids, especially Dylan, who has Autism. He would be by his side, learning how Dylan was trying to communicate, when Autism stole his words away and he became nonverbal. He would be by Dylan's side every time we visited, and Dylan was so happy to see his Papa (and Grandma too).
He and Judy bought Dylan his first 2-wheeled bicycle because they didn't want him missing out on doing what the other kids were doing, even with Dylan's learning challenges. I am so grateful that Rob could see Dylan's potential, instead of limitations.
As Mom to 3 amazing kids with Ron, I appreciated how Rob would save news articles on Autism and Arthritis to share with me. Teagan and Sarah both have Juvenile Arthritis and I, Rheumatoid Arthritis. Thoughtful support and always learning, really showed his care. I couldn't have asked for better "in-laws", and I enjoyed our deep conversations and light hearted ones too.
I will always remember Rob, dancing and laughing with Teagan, Dylan & Sarah, and giving life advice, with humour. He will be forever missed, remembered and loved.
My deepest condolences to Judy, Ron & Lisa (Sam, Dylan & Murphy), Lisa & Rob (Maya & Ella), his siblings and their spouses, nieces and nephews.
In sorrow,
Susan Farraway
