Obituary of Olive Sculley
With sadness in our hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Olive Sculley on Friday February 16, 2024 at the age of 83. Olive leaves behind her loving husband, Ken, and her daughters Jo-Anne (Jeff), Marina (Shawn), and Andrea (Richard). Olive was a devoted grandmother to Marina (Zach), Mark (Samantha), Joel (Melissa), Mikeala (Zack), Justine, Joshua, and Andrew, and a proud great-grandmother to Spencer. Olive (Mum/Nana) was so dearly loved by all her family and friends.
She was sweet, funny and kind but always stood her ground. She might have been small but she was mighty. She made friends wherever she went and with everyone she met, even making new friends in her last few days. Conversation was never in short demand if you were in her company. She loved her knitting, You Tube and National Lampoon and Mama Mia movies and singing “Tomorrow” and Abba, but nothing compared to the love she had for her grandchildren whom she loved whole heartedly and was so proud of and given the chance would brag to all that would listen about them. Our hearts are unraveling, just like her knitting projects but will be put back together by her never ending love and support. She will be truly missed by all that knew her and loved her.
Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Catherine Prangley for her kindness and care and to the doctors and staff at the Hamilton General Hospital.
A celebration of Olive's life will take place at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Inurnment to take place on Friday February 23, 2024 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Hamilton at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation or Heart and Stroke in Olive's memory.
