Obituary of Franklin "Frank" James Ellis

Frank passed away peacefully surrounded by family on the 10th of February 2024 at the age of 67.

Frank was the fourth son of Norman and Edythe Ellis and the youngest brother to Dan (Sharyn), Mike (Laurie), Steve (Barbara) and was uncle to nephews Jeffery (Magda)  and Ryan and niece Laura.

Frank was a heavy equipment operator for 48 years and proud of it. He was one of the best. He worked for notable companies along the way starting with Norm Ellis Haulage, Advance Excavating, Harry Vanzwol Crushing, Lafarge Const., James Dick Const., Cormar, Gord Mason Const., eventually retiring from DVC contracting. He was a loyal member of the Operators Union #793.

Frank enjoyed photography, cooking, gardening, and tinkering in his garage. Frank was a chip off the old block of " Norman ", stubborn and always did it his way, right to the end.

Special thanks to The March of Dimes PSW’s for their care and support and in particular "Amanda" who adopted his companion beagle named Buddy and Frank's good friend Tony who kept in contact with Frank after retirement and throughout his illness. Thanks to the staff at H.G.H 8 west for their compassionate and professional care.

As per Frank's wishes, no visitation. A private family service has taken place. Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.  Memorial Donations in Frank’s honour to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
